My Why- Motherhood & The Real Struggle

Modern motherhood is hard.

It’s no wonder so many parents feel confused and second-guess themselves.

You’re trying to make sense of sleep on very little rest, while being met with advice that pulls you in opposite directions.

Most parents I work with aren’t looking for perfection; They are running on empty:

  • Exhausted from broken nights and frequent wake-ups

  • Confused about what advice, parenting philosophy to follow and what to ignore

  • Concerned about protecting their child’s attachment while supporting their own needs

  • Questioning themselves  when days and nights feel harder than expected

  • Struggling with the constant mental and emotional load of motherhood.

  • Overwhelmed by late-night searching that often brings more questions than clarity.

  • Feeling guilty after trying approaches that didn’t feel right for their child.

  • Have a deep desire to parent differently, intuitively and or break familial patterns.

I do this work because parents deserve support that:

Meets them with clarity and understanding to help them feel confident and calm.  Strengthens parent-child attachment instead of breaking trust.

Supports sleep, nutrition and routine holistically, and without sleep-training.

Supports both the parents and the child’s emotional and physical needs.

Helps families find their rhythm and truly thrive, not just survive early parenthood.

And I want that for you too.

Frequently asked questions

What is Lullababy SOS?

Lullababy SOS is a gentle, attachment-led baby sleep and routine support service founded by Elaine Harvey — a maternity nurse and internationally recognised sleep consultant with 24 years of experience. We help exhausted parents build calm, predictable routines that support better sleep — without cry-it-out, without rigid schedules, and without sacrificing the connection between you and your child.

Does Lullababy SOS use cry-it-out or controlled crying?

Never. Lullababy SOS is built on the belief that baby behaviour is communication, not a problem to be fixed. We use gentle, co-regulation-based settling approaches that protect secure attachment and support your baby's nervous system development. Cry-it-out and controlled crying are not part of our methodology — under any name or framing.

What age groups does Lullababy SOS support?

Lullababy SOS has programs and resources for families from birth through to age five: Nurtured Beginnings (0–4 months), Babies in Balance (4–15 months), Chaos to Calm (12–24 months), and Taming Toddlers Bedtime (2–5 years). We also offer one-on-one consultations for parents who need personalised support regardless of their child's age.

Who is Elaine Harvey?

Elaine Harvey is a qualified maternity nurse, Australia's first internationally recognised gentle sleep consultant, and the Regional Director for Australasia at the International Association of Professional Sleep Consultants (IAPSC). She has supported more than 20,000 families globally across her 24-year career. Her approach is holistic, evidence-based, and deeply rooted in attachment theory and child development.

Is Lullababy SOS the same as sleep training?

No. Sleep training typically refers to methods that use graduated extinction (controlled crying) or full extinction (cry-it-out) to teach a baby to self-settle. Lullababy SOS does not use these approaches. Our methodology focuses on the five routine foundations — routine, transitions, nutrition, connection, and sleep — so that better sleep is the natural outcome of a well-supported baby and a confident, calm parent.
